Illyia of Moonstone, or simply Illyia, is the protagonist of Rune Fencer Illyia. She is a young, tomboyish Runist-in-training, seemingly incapable of performing Runic magic outside of summoning a conjured sword.
While her twin sister Lilly is a child prodigy using an Emerald glyphstone, she has yet to graduate past using a beginner's glyphstone, the humble Moonstone.
When the sisters are shipwrecked into the Sunken Kingdom of Ithos, Illyia immediately begins her search for her missing twin sister and the way home.
Appearance
Illyia is a human Runist with fair skin, long red hair and bright green eyes. She ties her otherwise unruly hair with gold-copper rings in a long ponytail, wearing her thick bangs loosely. She wears two golden hair clips on each side of her head to help keep her hair down.
She is quite short for her age, even by Revallian standards, and considerably shorter than the rest of her classmates. She is noticeably more athletic than her twin sister.
She wears a short, functional blue dress inspired by ancient Runist garb, particularly the cog-like patterned gold hem, over a loose yellow tank top. She also wears red armbands on each arm, brown tights, with thick leather shoes.
Personality
Illyia is principled and kind, always striving to do what she believes is right. That being said, Illyia sometimes has trouble gauging subtle social cues and can be brash and insensitive at times while speaking to others. She is somewhat impulsive, often acting or speaking without thinking.
Illyia is very physically active and impatient, unable to sit still for long without going stir-crazy. Her general lack of self-discipline and tendency for mischief often lands her in trouble both at home and in school.
Despite her general lack of interest in academic endeavors, she can be quite self-conscious regarding her general book knowledge as well as skill in Runic, especially when compared to her sister, Lilly of Emerald.
