Species Sentinel
A masterfully constructed Sentinel construct tasked with guarding places of great importance, a duty performed with exceptional zeal.
~ Bestiary Entry

The Elite Sentinel is a boss that crashes into your ship at the start of the game. It has two attacks that it relies on to deal damage.

  • A red marker will appear on the floor, and the Sentinel will stick an arm through the floor after a delay. This can be rolled through.
  • The Sentinel will open its eye, allowing itself to be damaged more heavily. It will then charge up a beam, and fire straight forward. This beam cannot be dodged; the only way to avoid it is by standing behind Lily, who will protect you from the blast.

When defeated, it will explode, damaging the ship and sending Illyia to the start of her journey.

Appearance

The Elite Sentinel is a construct of cracked stone and metal, with a large, pink gemstone in the center of itself, and another, smaller gemstone on the top-right of its model. Yet another smaller gemstone adorns its head, in the center of a strange pattern, and four metal arms sprout diagonally from each of its sides.

Strategies

This boss is a pretty simple one, especially since you can't die. Go for the attack, and try to bait the marker into showing up near the middle of the stage, so you can roll through it and Riposte the Sentinel. When it opens its eye, don't back down; instead, continue to deal damage until Lily tells you to get behind her. After the beam has finished, get right back to attacking, even if you're only making dents in the Sentinel's health.

Location

It crashes into your ship after you finish the tutorial for combat.

Bestiary Entry

Hollowed husks of similar sentinels can be found strewn about battlefields across the kingdom. The Forever King's forces were often bolstered by these powerful automatons, hated and feared amongst those they were mobilized against.
