Royal Medallion Shards are items that can be found across the Sunken Kingdom of Ithos. By collecting 4 of them, you can obtain a full Royal Medallion, which can be given to the Blue Disciple in exchange for higher Vitality or Rune Capacity.

Locations

There are currently 7 Royal Medallion Shards, obtained from the following places:

Royal Shard 1/7

1. In the Freezing Spire, at the bottom of the first screen, go all the way to the left, then hit the wall until it breaks. This will allow you to enter the secret room, where a challenge awaits you.

Using the Axe Throw Rune located in the Runic Shrine, you must hit all of the targets. If the Axe Rune breaks, don't worry; it will respawn in the Runic Shrine.

Once all 3 targets have been broken, the chest will ascend from the depths, and you will get your first Royal Medallion Shard.

Royal Shard 2/7

2. While on the Wooden Elevator, you may notice a ledge off on the right side. Jump to it, and enter the next challenge room.

At the entrance, you will see an Echo Fragment, along with a floating symbol, a pressure plate, and a pit of spikes. The pressure plate fires an arrow, the symbol stops time when hit, and spikes will re-introduce you to the Goddess. Your goal is to hit the symbol right when the arrow is partway across the pit of spikes.

Once you're on the other side, ascend the steps, then jump across the platforms to the other side, where you will be greeted by the chest containing this Royal Medallion Shard. Be wary; if you fall, it's back to the Time Glyph for you.

Royal Shard 3/7

3. At the bottom of the wooden elevator shaft, go left, through the entrance.

You will find a cave lined with spikes, and there be Bats hanging from the ceiling. Hop across the breakable platforms until you get to the blue chest.

Hit the chest to activate a timed event, where 6 blue symbols will appear throughout the cavern. You must hit each and every one of them before the ticking stops to open the chest.

Once you have done this, go back to the chest to receive your prize.

Royal Shard 4/7

4. After taking a totally-voluntary plunge to Central Shrine, go to the left, where the Ithosian Samurai is found (dueling the Samurai is optional).

Go down the elevator, and you will find the Arlan, the Blacksmith, trapped in crystal. I chose to free him with an Energy Strike, but that's up to you. What's important for this part, however, is the breakable wall on the left side of Arlan. Use your sword to break the wall, then enter therein.

Once you get inside, you'll find the chest at the midpoint of a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, that chest is blocked off, so we have to restore power.

Go down the rest of the stairs, then off to the right. You'll find an Echo Fragment, which informs you that power must be restored. This is found farther right, where you will see a strange contraption.

Energy Strike the altar, and you'll find a minigame awaiting you. You must smack the red orb to launch it into other orbs, gaining points in the process. Each green orb collision, whether it be by the orb you launched or another orb already in play, counts for 100 points. If a red orb collides with another red orb, you get 1000 points. You must get 25k (25000) points to open the gate guarding the chest. You can also get 30k (30000) to access Lowtown, but that's not important right now.

After getting your 25k, go back to the gate to watch it open, then you may take the shard.

Royal Shard 5/7

5. This shard can be obtained from Fishing.

Specifically, you need to catch the shiny green fish, known as the Green Greedie. Once you do, Hook will give you 5 Sheko for it, then notice something lodged in its mouth. At this point, you get the 5th Royal Medallion Shard.

Royal Shard 6/7

6. This shard is bought from Wanderer Lithse for 250 Ori.

Royal Shard 7/7

7. The last shard is located in Raindrop Sanctuary. You must first clear the starting room, which can be a task in itself, but keep going up until you find this particular pathway.

From here, go right, and make sure you go on top of these platforms, rather than below. An Ithosian Swordsman will be waiting for you on the one stable platform, but they will be guarding a treasure chest full of Ori.

After that, keep going straight, past these platforms, through the Lumia's Shades, and pull a slide-jump on the ramp to reach the last chest.
